Quantitative Research

Studies designed to produce numbers you can defend, with the sample built around the tables you intend to present.

In short

What is quantitative research, and does QGM run it in Oman?

Quantitative research measures. It uses structured questionnaires on designed samples to produce numbers that can be compared, tracked and defended. Quantum Gulf Marketing designs and fields quantitative studies across Oman, including consumer satisfaction programmes running to a thousand interviews per wave across a full branch network. The discipline that matters is sampling: a number is only as good as the frame it came from, which is why our census and outlet mapping work sits underneath our quantitative practice rather than beside it.

Designs
Ad hoc studies, tracking waves, satisfaction programmes
Modes
Face to face, telephone, online, and mixed
Sampling
Designed against your reporting plan and frame
Run in Oman
Satisfaction tracking at N=1,000 per wave across a branch network
Coverage
All 11 governorates
How it runs

Numbers that survive scrutiny.

Stage 01

Start from the tables

We ask what you intend to present, then size the sample so every cut in that plan carries enough interviews to be reportable.

Stage 02

Design and pilot

Questionnaire scripted, translated and piloted with real respondents. A question that fails in the field fails silently.

Stage 03

Field to quota

Quotas monitored live so the achieved sample matches the design rather than being weighted into shape afterwards.

Stage 04

Analyse and report

Significance testing where comparisons are made, weighting disclosed where applied, and findings written against the decision.

Questions

Common questions

How large should the sample be?
Large enough for the smallest group you intend to report. If you plan to talk about one governorate or one segment, that cell drives the total, not the headline number.
Do you weight the data?
Where the design requires it, and we tell you what was weighted and by how much. Undisclosed weighting is how research loses credibility.
Can you run tracking waves?
Yes, and consistency is the whole value. The questionnaire, the sample design and the field procedure are locked so that wave-on-wave movement means something.
Do you do significance testing?
Yes, on every comparison we present as a difference. A movement that is not significant is reported as not significant.
Can quantitative and qualitative be combined?
Yes, and it is often the strongest design: qualitative to find the questions, quantitative to size the answers.
Who analyses the data?
Our own team, with senior involvement in the design and the interpretation rather than only at the presentation.
